It is hard to choose the best diving destinations in the world. There are, after all, many options and choice should be set according to personal preference. Are you interested in deep water diving? Between Asian and Africa, the Red Sea offers exquisite diving opportunities for both beginners and advanced divers. Thousands of species of fish, plants and invertebrates make this area into one of the all-time favorite diving destinations. Find the time to go on a shipwreck expedition in the Thistlegorm, a naval ship that was sank in 1941 and is considered one of the most incredible diving sites in the world. Also, visit Elphinstone, near Marsa Abu Dabab in Egypt. In this breathtaking reef you can see diverse marine life such as sponges, gorgonians and glowing, colorful corals alongside with hammerhead sharks, massive turtles and many other creatures.
Indonesia
It's hard to compete with the over 17,000 islands which compose Indonesia. This massive archipelago has been a favorite destinations for divers worldwide and it offers many styles of dives. National Marine Park, Bali and Raja Ampat are just a few of the recommended spots, but there are many others. The reefs are pretty incredible and staying in the country is quite affordable.
Micronesia
The beautiful, tropical land of Micronesia is made of hundreds of small islands in the Pacific Ocean. There are many diving destinations in Micronesia, but the archipelago of Palau is where most divers go. The area is full of different species of fish, coral and marvelous reef lagoons and you can also see some ancient shipwrecks.
Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands are a well kept secret amongst divers who know great diving when they see it. The area is relatively undisturbed by the rush of tourist which seem to fill up many other locations and It offers some incredible sights. The real advantage of the Galapagos Islands is the number of shark species which can easily be seen in different parts of the islands. The cruses on these boasts are highly recommended as they compose the only way to dive at the breathtaking Wolf and Darwin.
Maldives
The aquamarine wildlife and astonishing atolls make Maldives in to a true underwater paradise. There is plentiful of exotic fish swimming in the sunny turquoise water and even the more experienced divers find themselves astonished by the beauty of the Maldives marine life. A good option is to use liveaboards, which often cost less than fees paid to the local resorts. Water temperature is simply perfect and visibility is extraordinary good. However, to those of you who are used to the low diving prices in other Asian countries, the Maldives may seem slightly expensive.
Australia
Now we know it's not fair to name a whole continent as a diving destination, but when it comes to Australia we really have no choice. The combination of seemingly endless beaches, fantastic clear blue water and extraordinary creatures that cannot be found anywhere else, make this continent in to the ultimate destination for divers in all levels of expertise. Don't miss the Great Barrier Reef, Cod Hole, Coral Sea and many other fantastic locations.
Fiji Islands
Many diving sites offer soft corals, but Fiji no doubt takes the crown in this field. The Fiji islands make a great vacation. Their exotic foods and drinks, the friendly nature of their residence and the amazing diving they offer under a burning orange tropical sky, all make this place one to remember. Divers have many reefs and lagoons to choose from and you always stand a good chance of encountering schools of snappers, black tip sharks and even barracuda.
